Derek Sung, founder of Aurora Muse, is currently a conductor and instrumental teacher at several primary and secondary schools, focusing on music education and performance.

Sung have been teaching violin and viola privately since 2017 and have 8 years of teaching experience. Many of his students are now studying at prestigious traditional schools.

Sung began learning the violin at the age of five, and at the age of twelve, he obtained the Grade 8 Distinction in violin from the Royal Academy of Music in London. Later, he passed the examination for a viola performance diploma from Trinity College, London.

Sung graduated from the Department of Music at Hong Kong Baptist University. During his studies, he served as the principal violist of the Baptist University Symphony Orchestra and the principal violist of Collegium Music Hong Kong.
